REVIEW: 3-DAY REFRESH

I did the 3-Day Refresh at the beginning of August 2014 after returning back from vacation where I, surprisingly, only gained 1 pound. Here are my daily thoughts...

Day 1: I had my breakfast of Shakeology, the Fiber Sweep a bit later (which is not that great at all), the Vanilla Fresh a few times, and a light dinner. I have to admit I had a slight headache at the end of the day, but otherwise, I was doing okay.

Day 2: Same deal as the day before, but I did not have a headache. I was, however, starting to dream about hamburgers. My weight was down 2 pounds or so.

Day 3: I was ready for real food and getting a little tired of the Vanilla Fresh, but I kept reminding myself that I only had this last day left. I do recommend getting some light exercise, if nothing else, to relieve the gas that will develop from all the fiber your body is adding.

RESULTS: I lost an inch in my waist and 4.5 pounds! I did end up gaining 1 pound back, but considering I was struggling to take off any weight, this was okay by me. My recommendation is to get the Refresh if you need to lose a bit in the stomach area before a big event.

So, what is the 3-Day Refresh? Find out here!

REVIEW: FOCUS T25

I'm going to be honest. I've watched the Insanity commercial many, many times. I loved seeing the before and afters, but I never thought I would be able to do that, despite the fact that I've done a lot of workouts, including having run a half marathon. When I had the opportunity to start T25 though, I jumped on it. I figured I could definitely handle 25 minutes, and Shaun T didn't scare me...that much.

My first workout: Alpha Cardio. It started out at a level where I thought, "this isn't so bad." I lasted about 5 minutes thinking that until...BOOM! Intensity hit!!! I pride myself at being able to do cardio, but I was definitely following the modifier more and more. It took me about 3 weeks to feel comfortable and to the point where I didn't have to follow the modifier much at all. I felt as though I had mastered Alpha by the time Beta hit.

Beta: I felt like I was starting over the first couple of workouts. I remembered Speed 1.0 from the Alpha round. I liked it, especially that it wasn't go-go-go the entire time. I assumed Speed 2.0 would be similar but with a few harder moves. Oh my! Is that different! I didn't like it at first. It was too fast paced for me, but like the other workouts I'd done in T25, I got used to it and ended up really liking it.

My favorite workout: I think my favorite was Rip'T Circuit, which is during the Beta cycle. I have lifted weights before and like strength training. This combined strength and cardio...the best of both worlds.
My results: I lost 8 pounds during the 10 weeks of T25. I lost my before measurements, so I don't know how many inches I lost. I also gained confidence and better posture.
